Join us on a journey to inner peace, more energy and well-being! We do medical yoga daily in beautiful surroundings at the exclusive retreat place Villa Dorothea. There we will fill up with good experiences, togetherness, silence, tranquility and well-being for body, mind and soul!

What are we doing this week:
Take a break from everyday routines, to turn the focus inwards and find your own rhythm and flow. Going on a health trip is something more than a holiday. A health travel is arranged so that you can have more time for yourself, get to practice yoga, meditation, rest, silence, good food and a supportive community. In the care you show yourself, you will be able to recharge your batteries, fill up with good experiences and learn simple, good techniques that you take home with you for everyday life and your life's path.
There will be daily morning yoga, as well as extra yoga and meditation sessions on most days. There will also be a gong bath one of the evenings. The yoga will take place in the beautiful hall in the Villa - surrounded by marble and with the most beautiful view! If the salt water pool maintains the right temperature, we will also do yoga in water - a wonderful experience. One of the days we will go to the beach and do morning yoga at sunrise, followed by breakfast on the beach.
In addition to the yoga, there will be classes on most days (optional participation) where we focus on self-care. The teaching intertwines knowledge from both recent research and knowledge and a yogic perspective, and there will be a mixture of theory and practical exercises. With a holistic and practical approach to health and well-being, we want to contribute to increased awareness of the body and health for a good quality of life, even long after the health travel is over!
Who can participate?
This yoga journey is open to those who have never done yoga before and those who have experience with yoga. We want to give you the experience of how Medical Yoga affects you on a deep level when you have the opportunity to practice yoga, meditation and breathing techniques several times a day. We want you to experience this in the most beautiful surroundings, surrounded by others who want the same as you - to explore yoga and give yourself a week of beautiful days. Here you can enjoy vegetarian food, prepared with deep knowledge and love, relax by the saltwater pool and enjoy quiet days in beautiful surroundings.
What is Medical Yoga?
Medical Yoga is a calm and simple form of yoga that can suit the vast majority of people. It is a form of yoga based on the old yogic traditions, intertwined with newer knowledge.
What do we do ?
During the week you will have the opportunity to take part in a morning trip to the beach where we do yoga at sunrise (included in price), gong bath (included in price), excursion to beautiful Altea where we have dinner at one of the local restaurants (included in price). There will also be an opportunity to participate in a guided walk with meditation in the beautiful surroundings (you pay for this yourself, sign up on arrival). There will also be some gatherings about the path to inner peace and yoga's understanding of good health. All activities and gatherings are of course voluntary. During your free time, it is possible to take a trip to the lovely Villa Joyosa, relax by the pool or retreat to one of the many beautiful spaces around the retreatcenter.
During the week, you get to practice living a little more slowly, being attentively present in your own body, being in silence, giving your body time to find balance, getting to know your energy and awakening your flow and power. You will experience the power found in living a little more calmly, the value of sensing and, not least, you will experience how easy it can be to charge the batteries!

This module is suitable for those who want to learn about self-care for themselves.
It is also suitable for those who work with people, as being a healthcare professional/therapist or in other work where contact with people in different situations is associated with special requirements and challenges. This involves working days where you are a helper in a meeting with people who are in pain. The role of therapist means that you get close to suffering. It turns out that being in contact with complex cases, lack of recovery and sad fates can be thought to constitute a burden over time.
There is a humility and a respect for the complexity involved in working with things that have to do with the human. In this module, we take a closer look at how health personnel/therapists can provide the best possible health care without having to expense themselves.
The purpose of the module is to prevent and relieve stress.

This module can be taken by anyone, at the same time as it is included in the instructor/teacher training.

Friday: we finish with a trip to lovely Altea, where you will have time to stroll the streets and do a bit of shopping if you wish. We eat together at a restaurant. Bus trip to Altea and dinner are included in the price.

ATTENTION! We only have access to the retreatcenter from and until the dates and times stated here. If you arrive earlier or stay longer, you are responsible for your own accommodation and stay beyond the days the retreat is booked. The retreat opens at 16.00 on arrival on Saturday and closes at 10.00 on the day of departure.
If you land early, you can walk around Alicante. The journey between the airport and Alicante city takes approx. 20 minutes by bus, 19 km.
You can also take a taxi to Villajoyosa which is the nearest coastal town and beach to Villa Dorothea Retreat. Taxi between the airport and Villajoyosa costs €65-70. Taxi between Villajoyosa and Villa Dorothea takes 12 minutes and costs approx. €15-20.
Villajoyosa has a long sandy beach and a promenade. There is a siesta and closed shops from approx. 13.30-17.30. A number of restaurants are then open.
If you arrive one or more days earlier or want to stay a few days after the retreat, you arrange accommodation and accommodation yourself. Feel free to contact Villa Dorothea Retreat for tips and recommendations on where to stay.Liv Freya, who owns and runs Villa Dorothea Retreat, is happy to help organize you to be picked up and dropped off at the airport (approx. €20.), plus she is happy to help organize it so that, if you arrive early, will be driven to a good place and then picked up when it is time for it.
In order to get help with transfer, we need to know that you want help, so tell us that you want transfer no later than one week before the retreat starts. If you have not told us that you want help being picked up, you will take a taxi from the airport. Be careful with the address, because not many taxi drivers will find their way if they are not given the correct address.

Norwegian directions: 6 km north of Villajoyosa, take the exit towards Orxeta and turn right at the restaurant El Pantano.
Spanish directions: 6 km recto al norte de Villajoyosa, diríjase a Orxeta y gire a la derecha en el restaurante El Pantano.We live in pairs and share a bathroom. If there is someone special you want to share a room with, you let us know by email when you book. You can stay in a room alone for an additional price of NOK 1900.
The kitchen is vegetarian with a fantastic chef who knows vegetarian, vegan, microbiotic food and raw food. All food is organic and the drinking water is collected every day from a spring up in the mountains. Alcohol and cigarettes (including e-cigarettes) are not permitted in the area. The food will be adapted to strengthen the body through yoga and meditation. If you have allergies or intolerances, they must be reported to Villa Dorothea directly and well in advance of arrival, so that they can decide whether they can meet your needs and have time to adapt the menus.

(surcharge for single room NOK 1,900)Registration fee: NOK 5,990 is paid a couple of weeks after you have signed up, to secure your place, and the remaining NOK 10,000 is paid no later than 10 weeks before the start of the course. The invoices come via your e-mail.
The registration fee is not refunded upon cancellation. Cancellations closer to the start of the course than 10 weeks can only be refunded if we find another participant who can take the place.

Travel insurance
Marianne Feydt
Marianne Feydt is a medical therapist and teacher and works with this full-time. Among other things, Marianne is a Medical Yoga teacher in stress and burnout mentor, has specialization in Medical Yoga trauma and she collaborates on the development of Medical Yoga advanced courses such as Medical Yoga sleep, water and Medical Yoga Young people and mental health. She has been part of the International MediYoga Team. Marianne is a teacher in EMYoga (Energy Medicine Yoga), Children and youth yoga teacher, Vinyasa yoga teacher. She runs Medisinsk Yoga Drammen, and Medisinsk Yoga Norge. She is a trained conversation therapist, couples and relationship therapist and conversation coach (senior practitioner level, affiliated with EMCC) at Humanova in Oslo. Anette Haugnæss
My name is Anette Haugnæss, and I am part of the team at Medisinsk Yoga Norge. In addition, I run Solid Veileding AS where I offer process guidance for the health and upbringing sector and the refugee service. In addition, I hold professional days for health and school personnel, and offer yoga classes on order from associations and companies.
My experiences have grown over 20 years where I have interacted with young people exposed to complex trauma. This has contributed to useful experiences, both at management level, the colleague group, interdisciplinary cooperation and not least in the meetings with the young people and their network. The department I worked in was lucky enough to be guided by Heine Steinkopf at RVTS Sør, where several of us have contributed as informants in his doctoral work - which is certainly worth a closer look!
I have specialist expertise in trauma-informed care, stress and techniques for self-care. Over the years, I have taken a bachelor's degree in child protection, a master's degree in clinical mental health work, further education in mindfulness at NTNU, and I am a certified stress counselor, thought virus instructor and bereavement group leader.

Teacher on the journey
Teachers on the trip are Marianne Feydt and Anette Haugnæss. We are both Medical Yoga teachers and therapists. We have several exciting projects under development, and our collaboration is characterized by creativity, joy and a burning passion for yoga and bringing simple tools for good days to our fellow human beings. We have both organized retreats in the past, and want to bring all our experience and expertise to a wonderful yoga journey! Now we can't wait to gather all our energy and focus on giving YOU a wonderful week.
