Medical Yoga in water/therapy pool

A number of health challenges can make it difficult to carry out yoga and other exercise on a mat or chair. Both water exercise and yoga are individually gentle and good forms of exercise. By combining these, you can experience the joy of both forms of exercise - and even an enhanced effect.

Both increased mobility, calm and balance from yoga, and the soothing and pain-relieving effect of warm water can contribute to increased mobility and circulation, less stress and pain, better sleep and well-being.

Medical Yoga shows a good effect on stress, blood pressure, breathing, sleep and pain. These good effects will be experienced by a larger group of people who would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in yoga classes in a hall due to immobility or pain.






Activities in water increase mobility and strength and release endorphins in the body which, among other things, help to reduce pain and stiffness. Even if you weigh less than 10% of your body weight, the resistance of the water means that you use 10-12 times more energy when doing exercises in water. You do not need to be able to swim to participate in Medical Yoga in water.  





In the programmes, we emphasize both the physiological and the energetic part of the human being. Several of the programs will be specially developed for the groups we know use hot water pools as exercise/training, among other things to reduce inflammatory conditions in the body.

By bringing yoga into the pool training, these will also enjoy the effects of yoga and increase the yield from both pool and yoga training.




The certification program is suitable for you who lead individuals/groups, peers and you who work in health, physiotherapists and other professionals who meet people with physical and/or mental challenges. For you who are a yoga teacher, this certification program can contribute to how you can facilitate individual follow-up, but also if you want to offer Medical Yoga for groups.
