Medical Yoga Grief Support
Do you want to acquire knowledge about grief and how Medical Yoga can function as support?
Then this certification program may be for you. Feeling grief and loss is a natural part of life, whether it is death, illness, relationship breakdown - grief can also be triggered by loss of work, bullying, level of functioning, trust, substance abuse and crushed hopes and dreams for the future - for to name a few. In recent grief theory, grief is described as individual processes where there is a shift between grief-centredness and mastery-centredness. Grief is also not understood as something to be processed, but as a reaction to life events that will shape life afterwards (ref. VID Oslo, 2022). We at Medisinsk Yoga Norway think that we all carry something with us in life that can feel heavy to carry - but through good tools we can strengthen ourselves so that what we carry does not stop us from strolling on in life's path.
The course holders themselves have experience with grief, and over many years have acquired theoretical and practical knowledge of grief support, as they themselves experienced that just talking about what you have experienced was not enough. Because grief is also experienced physically;
-
Energyless
-
Joint and muscle pain
-
Unrest
-
Stomach and intestinal problems
-
Numbness
-
Headache
-
Breathing difficulties
-
Sleep challenges
-
Change in appetite
-
Sensory changes
To mention something. The most important thing is to remember that all grief is unique and reactions and what is experienced as support varies from person to person. Nor is it time in itself that alone strengthens a healing process, but what we fill the time with. This certification program aims to contribute sufficient knowledge and body-based methods to you who meet people in grief, so that you can create an arena that recognizes and supports the reactions that grief triggers.
